For the first time, the work mechanism for taxes on archaeological monuments will be executed
The execution of the investment project "Tourist conditioning of the El Brujo Archaeological Complex - Ascope, in La Libertad", will require an investment of more than 3.5 million soles and will be carried out thanks to the mechanism of work for taxes, which is being executed for the first time on archaeological monuments.
The announcement was made known by the Minister of Culture Francesco Petrozzi, who affirmed that said investment project is the first linked to scientific research in archeology and aims to provide the right conditions for the El Brujo Archaeological Complex to improve its tourism potential. .

"This project at the" El Brujo "Archaeological Complex Center marks a before and after in the history of cultural management in our country, not only because it is the first time that a work has been achieved for taxes on archaeological monuments; but because a new path is opened to finance research on our cultural heritage, allowing the participation of private companies, accessing new knowledge of our past; and, above all, to spread it among all Peruvians, "said Minister Petrozzi.
It should be noted that this initiative will be carried out in co-execution between the Ministry of Culture and the Regional Government of La Libertad, with the company Inmuebles Panamericana, in charge of carrying out the aforementioned project, which should begin in the first quarter of 2020 and will last approximately two years.
On the other hand, the Minister of Culture indicated that although the funeral bundle of the Lady of Cao was discovered several years ago, modifying our vision about the role of women in ancient Peru, with the excavations that will be carried out thanks to This investment project will allow us to know in a better level of detail aspects of the Mochica culture, as well as the other human occupations that took place in El Brujo throughout more than 14,000 years of history. at the moment we only know 5% of what El Brujo has to offer us ”, he specified.
Likewise, the Minister of Culture highlighted the importance of the joint effort of the participating institutions that will contribute to the enhancement of the archaeological heritage of our country for tourism purposes and continue with research on this complex.
This first project is the result of joint work with the Regional Government of La Libertad and the Wiese Foundation, the latter being very committed, for several years, to the development of the El Brujo Archaeological Complex.
