January 27, 2025, La Libertad – The Operations Directorate of the El Brujo archaeological complex informs the entire community and visitors that, in order to preserve and guarantee the security of our invaluable cultural heritage, maintenance work will be carried out in the Ceremonial Plaza of Huaca Cao Viejo.
During this period, the ridge cables of the tensile structure of the Ceremonial Plaza will be changed. Valley cables are essential elements to tension and support the weight of the tarp, and also to provide the characteristic parabolic shape of the structure.
The works will be carried out from February 17 to April 6, 2025. During this time access to the Ceremonial Plaza will be restricted for safety reasons.
We reiterate our commitment to the adequate maintenance and conservation of this important archaeological site, and we thank our visitors and the community at large for their understanding while these necessary improvements are being carried out for the preservation of the cultural heritage.
